About the Artist: Partners in life and work, Wes and Joan met in art school where they quickly bonded over a shared interest in art and the underground music scene. Married soon after, they’ve spent the years since developing as artists while simultaneously raising a family. Their collaboration culminated in 2014 with the establishment of Yeoman Artworks, a studio whose work successfully combines Wes’ process-oriented expression with Joan’s design and graphic sensibility. Choosing to work unburdened by rules and influenced by their Generation X perspective, Wes and Joan employ a multidisciplinary approach to create layers of shapes, images, and pattern. Current works explore the interplay between chaos and order, and are suggestive of the unseen energies at play in the universe.
